Second chances

Appeal a ban or warning ๐Ÿพ

Staff are human and mistakes happen โ€” on both sides. If you were warned, muted, or banned on the PupLand SMP Minecraft server or Discord, you can ask for a review. Everyone gets a fair, calm read.

This page is maintained by PupLand SMP staff as editable site content.

How the appeal process works

1

Cool off first

Wait at least 24 hours before appealing. Appeals written while upset almost never go well for anyone.

2

Join the Discord

Appeals happen on Discord. If you're banned in-game you can still appeal there; if you're banned from Discord too, ask a friend to tag staff for you.

3

Open an appeal ticket

Use the #appeals channel or send a polite, private DM to a staff member. One appeal at a time โ€” don't message every staff member.

4

Fill in the appeal template

Copy the template below and answer every field honestly. Missing details slow your review down.

5

Wait for a review

Two staff members read every appeal where possible. You'll get a decision and a short reason.

6

Come back to the pack

If your appeal is accepted, staff will lift or reduce the action and explain what to avoid next time.

Appeal template

Copy this into your appeal ticket or DM and fill it in. Honest answers help far more than perfect ones.

What action are you appealing? (warning / mute / temp ban / perm ban)
Date it happened (approx.):
Which staff member issued it (if known):
Why were you actioned? (in your own words)
Why do you think it should be reviewed?
What will you do differently?
Anything else staff should know (screenshots, context, witnesses):

Timelines & who reviews it

  • Warnings & mutes: usually reviewed within 48 hours.
  • Temporary bans: usually reviewed within 3โ€“5 days.
  • Permanent bans: may take up to 7 days, and a second staff member reviews it.
  • The staff member who issued the action does not decide the appeal alone whenever another staff member is available.
  • If more than 7 days pass with no reply, you may send one polite follow-up.

What staff look at

The evidence

Chat logs, block logs, screenshots, and staff notes from the incident.

Your history

Whether this was a first slip or part of a repeated pattern.

Impact on others

Whether anyone was harmed, harassed, or lost builds and items.

Your response

Whether the appeal shows you understand what happened and how you'd handle it differently.

Possible outcomes

  • Accepted: the action is lifted and any strike is cleared or reduced.
  • Reduced: a permanent ban becomes temporary, or a ban becomes a warning.
  • Upheld: the action stands, with a short explanation of why.
  • Deferred: you're asked to wait a set period before appealing again.

You may submit one new appeal every 30 days unless staff tell you otherwise. Appeals that are hostile, spammed, or made on alt accounts will be closed without review, and ban evasion makes a permanent ban very unlikely to be lifted.

Reporting a staff decision or another player

If you feel a staff member acted unfairly or you need to report harassment, message a different staff member privately on Discord โ†—. Reports are handled quietly and we never punish someone for reporting in good faith.

This appeal process describes how PupLand SMP staff currently handle reviews. It is a community process, not a legal procedure or guarantee of any particular outcome. Full rules live in our Terms of Service.
